Professor Joshua Abor is a Professor of Finance and the Dean at the University of Ghana Business School. He received his PhD from the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, after completing the coursework component of the PhD at Harvard University. Professor Abor is a researcher with the African Economic Research Consortium and his areas of research include corporate finance, corporate governance, small business finance and development finance. His papers have appeared in reputable international journals, including Corporate Governance: An International Review, Studies in Economics and Finance, Journal of Economic Studies, African Development Review, Thunderbird International Business Review, and Emerging Market Finance & Trade. He is a Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town and has also held Visiting Scholar positions at the International Monetary Fund, Washington DC. He serves on the editorial boards of a number of leading business, finance and economics journals.
