Professor Olivia A. T. Frimpong Kwapong holds a PhD from the University of Ghana. She has studied as a special Doctoral Candidate at Harvard University. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Continuing and Distance Education, University of Ghana. She promotes empowerment of women through adult education, distance learning and technology-mediated learning. Olivia’s current research work is the outcome of a convergence of her interest in gender mainstreaming, poverty alleviation, urbanization and the role of information and communication technology (ICT) in society. Her work has focused on research on gender equality; especially using ICT to enhance access to learning by vulnerable groups, including women. Professor Kwapong’s research and teaching interests have been enriched through knowledge-sharing with the academic and public policy communities in Ghana and internationally.
