GrOW Research Project: Focus Group Discussion in Pictures

 As part of the Growth and Economic Opportunities for Women (GrOW) Research project being undertaken by IIAS in collaboration with CIRES, Ivory Coast with Funding provided by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Focus Group Discussions were organized to understand some of the challenges faced by women in the extractive industry. These Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) brought together workers from both administrative and technical sections of extractive industry establishments. Workers and mine owners in scale mining units were not left out.

 

The discussions focused mainly on the challenges and constraints faced by women in the extractive industry as well as the way forward in bringing women on board to reap benefits accruing from one of the main drivers of economic growth in Ghana.
